Oh man. I have been thinking about doing the tiny home thing for so long now. I thought it was going to be the answer to freedom for me.
I mean, how many people are actually willing to downsize that much? I figured I must be one of few and the “sacrifice” of having a life that was simple and not larger than life would help me live for less money. And that would mean I could have the thing I want the most.
Freedom. Freedom. Some kind of freedom.
As much freedom from the man as possible.
Freedom from needing a lot of money.
Plus, I like simplicity.
The Challenge?
The homes themselves are pretty affordable at a 30K-60K average price. Of course, there is smaller or fancier, depending on how much you want to spend.
But holy fuckballs! There is nowhere to park the bitches!
I happen to live in California right now. So…
In order to park them, you need land. And the land has to have certain stuff too, like a foundation, and whatever whatever whatever.
Or if you want to haul your tiny home to RV campgrounds, then you have to lump in the cost to rent the space, moving the shit around and having the home built with specific standards to haul it around.
And then if you want to park it somewhere else, there’s all the zoning laws n’ shit. And I don’t see a lot of people advertising to have their space rented…
